Marla: It wasn’t completely the obvious path. Was going into music the obvious path for you both? Thankfully, with the best teacher around. It’s been amazing journey and we still have a lot to grow so every day we learn. I’m so thankful for the opportunity my dad has given us to grow and expand our knowledge every time we step that stage. In 2017, I got invited to go on tour with Camila and that was probably the best experience that has helped me to improve myself as an artist and a performer in general. What were those years like building up to the very moment you first stepped foot on a stage?Īlison: The first performance I had on my own was in a local theater singing with my piano teacher and ever since then I’ve just loved it more and more. Just hours before going onstage, Billboard caught up with Alison and Marla in a Q&A where they talked about creating their own path in the industry with the advice from the “best teacher” they could have asked for.
